Our Programming - Nuestra Programación

PPT has three ongoing programs: a School Year program, the Actor’s Society, and a 
Summer Intensive program.
The School Year program includes four full-scale productions, with two targeted to tweens and teens and two to children ages 6-12 years. Past productions include Shrek: The Musical, The Tempest, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Charlotte's Web, Our Town, and Into the Woods, among many other challenging classics. Participation in these productions requires a commitment to attend rehearsals 2-4 times per week (3-16 hours weekly) for the 8-10 week rehearsal and performance schedule.

The Actors' Society is a select group of teens deeply dedicated to the theatre who meet monthly and take on leadership roles in the theatre and community. As a theatre, our focus is not only on the performing arts, but also the team building skills that our children learn through the vehicle of theatre. PPT fundamentally encourages the development of community and the core value of service to the community. The Actor's Society is formed yearly by application and awarded to teens with recognizable commitment to the theatre and qualities of service and leadership. Actor’s Society members act in or participate in the production of all four productions throughout the year. They take responsibility for costume and lighting design, mentor younger children, and volunteer as the face of PPT at public events, such as the Medieval Festival, the Little Red Lighthouse Festival, the Harvest Festival and AIDS Walk NYC.

The 4-week PPT Summer Intensive program provides skills-based instruction in dance, acting, voice, and theatre tech at low cost to our middle school and high school students. During the Summer Intensive, kids take classes in monologue preparation, scene study, improv acting, circus skills, tap, ballet, jazz dance, stage combat, stage makeup, and more! The students also take two meaningful field trips focused on developing theatrical experiences and team building, which have included a Broadway show and a ropes course. The summer culminates in a Showcase highlighting the new skills of all our participants.

Nuestra Programación PPT tiene tres programas: un programa durante el año escolar, la Sociedad de Actores, y un programa intensivo de verano. 
 El programa del año escolar incluye cuatro producciones a gran escala, dos para niños de 12-18 años y dos para niños de 6 a 12 años. Producciones anteriores incluyen Shrek, el musical, La Tempestad, El maravilloso mago de Oz, La telaraña de Carlota, Our Town y Into the Woods,entre muchos otros clásicos desafiantes. La participación en estas producciones requiere el compromiso de asistir a los ensayos de 2 a 4 veces por semana (de 3 a 16 horas a la semana) para un programa de 8 a 10 semanas. 

La Sociedad de Actores es un grupo selecto de adolescentes profundamente dedicados al teatro que se reúnen mensualmente y asumen roles de liderazgo en el teatro y la comunidad. Como teatro, nuestro enfoque no está solo en las artes escénicas, sino también en las habilidades de trabajar en equipo que nuestros niños aprenden a través del vehículo del teatro. PPT fomenta fundamentalmente el desarrollo de la comunidad y el valor central del servicio a la comunidad. La Sociedad de Actores se forma anualmente mediante solicitud y se otorga a los adolescentes que tienen un compromiso reconocible con el teatro y cualidades de servicio y liderazgo. Los miembros de la Sociedad de Actores actúan o participan en la producción de las cuatro producciones durante el año escolar. Asumen la responsabilidad del diseño de vestuario y la iluminación del teatro, asesoran a los niños más pequeños y se ofrecen como voluntarios como el rostro de PPCT en eventos públicos, como el Festival Medieval, el Festival del Farito Rojo, el Festival de la Cosecha y la AIDS Walk NYC. 

 El Intensivo de Verano PPCT  - este programa brinda instrucción basada en habilidades en danza, actuación, voz y tecnología teatral a bajo costo para nuestros estudiantes de secundaria y preparatoria. Durante el intensivo de verano, los niños toman clases de preparación de monólogos, estudio de escena, actuación de improvisación, habilidades de circo, tap, ballet, danza jazz, combate escénico, maquillaje escénico y más. Los estudiantes también toman dos paseos, enfocados en desarrollar experiencias teatrales y la formación de equipos, que han incluido un espectáculo de Broadway y un curso de cuerdas. El verano culmina con una show que destaca las nuevas habilidades de todos nuestros participantes.
